LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: David Harbour is opening up about the challenges he faced during the SAG-AFTRA strike that even affected his relationship with his wife Lily Allen.

David Harbour reveals why his wife Lily Allen likes it when he goes to work

Speaking to People, the 48-year-old actor said his marriage to Allen is going "so great."

He further explained that the actor's strike which ended on Thursday, November 10, affected his relationship with his 38-year-old wife.

"Ultimately, it's very good because you get to know someone," said Harbour.

"But, let me tell you, my wife likes when I go to work because it's nice for her to have her life and me to have my life and for us not to just annoy each other by being around all the time," the actor added.

"We have these two kids, and it's so great," Harbour said of his stepdaughters, Allen’s children Ethel, 11 and Marnie, 10.

"We get to raise them and stuff, and as our marriage continues, we grow closer and closer," he said.

The 'Violent Night' actor said he felt "bad" for his musician wife amid the strike as he confessed he was "sitting on the couch depressed as hell" with "nothing" to do.

"It's been bad. It's like what happened to me in the same way in COVID, where you think to yourself like, ‘Oh, now, I kind of have all this time.’ And then you just check your Google alerts every five minutes and are just neurotically insecure," he said.

Inside David Harbour and Lily Allen's marriage

During a private Las Vegas wedding ceremony officiated by an Elvis Presley impersonator, Harbour and Allen tied the knot in September 2020.

The duo married a year after they went Instagram official when the actor shared a picture of himself with Allen at Disney World.

On their third wedding anniversary, the songwriter penned a tribute to her husband as she wrote, "Three years with this guy, second best decision I ever made. First was that dress."

Talking about the fifth season of 'Stranger Things', Harbour said he is "super excited to be back at work" as the production for the science fiction horror drama begins next week.

"They literally called me, I think it was 10 minutes after the SAG thing on Twitter," the actor told People.

"The first AD [Assistant Director] is like, 'So, get the flight for you on Monday, right? We'll be acting in Atlanta,'" the actor continued.

"I'm thrilled with that. I'm ready to work," he added.
