LISBON, PORTUGAL: Madonna, who celebrated her 65th birthday on August 16, shared a sweet Instagram post on Friday. She shared a compilation of photos and videos from the special day.

The ‘Queen of Pop’ captioned “It’s great to be Alive………… .. and amazing to be able to put on my dancing shoes and celebrate my birthday! 🎉🎉🎉 Im so grateful.” She added, “Thank you Lisbon, and to all who made it possible! 🇵🇹♥️”

In one of the video clips, the star was seen enjoying along with her hit ‘Vogue’ with her close ones as they relaxed on a boat, danced through the night, and saw live music.

How did Madonna celebrate her 65th birthday?

Madonna vacationed with her squad, all six of her children, including her eldest Lourdes Leon who she shares with ex-Carlos Leon, and Rocco, whom she shares with ex-husband Guy Ritchie. Her other children — David, Mercy, and twins Stella and Estere — were present too.

In one of the videos, Lourdes, 26, was seen serenading the group with a song briefly. The icon donned incredible gowns and bejeweled garments during her stay and even made a funny statement.

“I’m gonna wreck the place with my jewels. It’s great to be alive,” she said during her speech as guests applauded.

Why was Madonna hospitalized?

Madonna was hospitalized a few weeks before her birthday due to a serious bacterial infection. Her longtime manager Guy Oseary confirmed the news on June 28.

“On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which [led] to a several-day stay in the ICU,” he wrote.

“Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour," Oseary informed over Instagram. Madonna’s most awaited tour has been rescheduled, as Live Nation updated on Tuesday.

“Getting all shows rescheduled was the number one priority. Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, a few shows noted below will be canceled,” it announced in a press release.

“Madonna, too, said that she regrets the inconvenience caused to fans and hopes to make it up to those markets in the future,” as per People.

The singer herself gave a health update on Instagram. “Thank you again for your incredible support and patience over these past few weeks!” the pop star shared.

“I’m happy to report that the re-routed tour schedule will be coming in the next few days! See you soon for a well-deserved Celebration!! 🎉🌈🥳💘," she added.
