LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Elliot Page has made shocking revelations about his past relationships in his new memoir, titled 'Pageboy'. The Canadian native, formerly known as Ellen Page, came out as transgender in 2020. In his memoir, he reveals he had intimate encounters with his 'Juno' co-star Olivia Thirlby during the filming of the hit 2007 movie, after opening up about his secret romance with Kate Mara.
The Oscar-nominated star describes his instant attraction to Thirlby, who portrayed Juno's best friend Leah in the film. Page confesses, "'I was taken aback the moment I saw Olivia Thirlby. She seemed so much older, capable, and centered. Sexually open, far removed from where I was at the time. But the chemistry was palpable, it pulled me in.'"
Elliot Page and Olivia Thirlby's intimate encounters
The two apparently started a passionate fling during the filming of 'Juno', engaging in intimate moments in various locations, including hotel rooms, trailers on set, and even a private room in a restaurant. Page writes, "'Being intimate with Olivia helped my shame dissipate. I didn’t see a glint of it in her eyes, and I wanted that — done feeling wretched about who I am,'" revealed Page Six.
Interestingly, Page and Thirlby were also slated to star in the film 'Jack & Diane' as the title characters, but both dropped out before production. Thirlby publicly came out as bisexual in 2011 and has been married to Jacques Pienaar since 2014.
Elliot Page's secret relationship with Kate Mara
In addition to his relationship with Thirlby, Page discloses his secret romance with Kate, which took place while she was dating Max Minghella. Page reveals that Kate was "in love with two people" and that their relationship was characterized by highs and lows. The pair struck up a romance during the filming of 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'. Page explains, "'This was right after I’d come out as gay [in 2014], and it was a time of exploration and also heartbreak. I think my relationship, or whatever you want to call it with Kate, very much encapsulates a certain dynamic that I consistently found myself in, which was falling for people that — I think a lot of us do this — who aren’t fully available.'"
Despite their romantic involvement, Page emphasizes the love and care they have for each other, which he considers unique and separate from the intimacy described in his memoir. Kate, who is now married to actor Jamie Bell, has read the book and will be appearing at a book event in Los Angeles to promote it. Page publicly came out as a transgender man in December 2020, revealing that he had felt like a boy from a young age.
In his memoir, he shares an experience at a gay bar where he met a woman named Paula, who helped him address feelings of shame and allowed him to embrace his desires. Page reflects, "'But here I was, on a dance floor with a woman who wanted to kiss me, and the antagonizing, cruel voice that flooded my head whenever I felt desire was silent.'"
'Y'all oversharing!'
However, the revelations weren't met kindly on social media. One user mockingly tweeted, “Elliot and Olivia, can we please move on to the next shot?” *tacos smacking in the background." A second questioned, "Does Olivia want us to know this also? Because I feel like this is none of our business and maybe he shouldn’t be saying this?" A third tweeted, "Y'all over sharing. We should know less about each other." "He's been revealing SO much stuff recently, I'm confused about why lol. But hey it's his life," read a tweet.
