Why did Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin call off their divorce? Star engages in PDA with wife during Italian getaway

ITALY, EUROPE: Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin Stallone seem to have reclaimed the magic, nearly a year after canceling their divorce plans. The couple, who have been married for 26 years, were captured on camera with beaming smiles while enjoying a relaxing time in Italy. They were spotted cooling off in a pool and taking a boat ride along the beautiful Italian coast.

In one heartwarming photo, the 77-year-old ‘Rocky’ actor wrapped his arms affectionately around his 54-year-old wife, while she gently held onto his arms. Another shot captured Sylvester playfully covering up his wife's top with his hands, and it elicited a joyful laugh from her. The genuine love and connection between them were evident during their recent outing, which took place not long after Jennifer filed for divorce in August 2022.

‘There was a reawakening’

According to court records obtained by the Palm Beach Post, part of the USA TODAY network, an order for abatement was filed in the Palm Beach County Circuit Court on September 23. This filing occurred a little over a month after Jennifer Flavin initiated divorce proceedings, during which she described their 25-year marriage as "irretrievably broken.”

The court filing states that both parties have agreed that it is in their best interests individually and, more importantly, as a family to settle all issues related to the dissolution of their marriage in a respectful, amicable, and private manner outside of court. This decision gives them the chance to work toward an amicable resolution and potentially reconcile their differences.

Sylvester Stallone acknowledged the challenging nature of their separation, describing it as a "tumultuous time" during an interview with The Sunday Times. "There was a reawakening of what was more valuable than anything, which is my love for my family. It takes precedence over my work, and that was a hard lesson to learn," the actor said.

‘I’m looking forward to a new chapter of life’

During an event, Sylvester Stallone openly expressed his deep love for his family. He spoke to one of the attendees and said, "I want to do everything with my family. That's all I give a s--- about.” Sylvester emphasized the importance of leaving a positive legacy for his daughters, stating, "I won't be around forever, and I certainly want to leave them with fine thoughts of their father — that he did the best he could to make their life as fruitful as possible."

During ‘The Family Stallone’s Season 1, Episode 7, Sylvester shared his sentiments about this new phase in his life. He acknowledged that both his and Jennifer's careers have been incredibly busy and hectic for a long time. He said, “I’m looking forward to a new chapter of life, slowing down for a chance to spend some time with my girls.” Stallone and Flavin married in May 1997 in London and have three daughters: Sophia, 26; Sistine, 25; and Scarlet, 21.
