Who is Mario Che-Tiul? Escaped Missouri inmate jailed over molestation and incest charges captured in Chester County

CHESTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA: Mario Che-Tiul managed to escape from a Missouri jail a few months ago along with other prisoners.

On Thursday, September 21, the US Marshals managed to capture him in the same county - Chester County, as Denelo Cavalcante.

The authorities informed that the accused was taken into custody after they gathered data that Che-Tiul might be at the residence and surrounded by an apartment in the unit block of Gap Newport Pike in Avondale.

Che-Tiul was in the Barry County Jail in Missouri when was ran away in June. Meanwhile, the other prisoners were captured, however, Che-Tiul hadn’t been found by the authorities until now.

How did the authorities find Mario Che-Tiul?

The US Marshals received suggestive information that Che-Tiul may be in the Philadelphia or New Jersey area. He found some work as a laborer and maintained a low profile, reports CBS News.

"We proceeded to the address it was a large residence there were a lot of rooms filled with laborers from the county. We were able to talk to some of them and narrow down which room Che-Tiul was living in," said Robert Clark, of the US Marshals.

"During this escape, two officers were choked unconscious. Five of the six escapees were caught relatively quick in Missouri. Mario Che-Tiul was the last fugitive to be sought," Clark added.

Interestingly, convicted murderer Cavalcante's jailbreak brought back attention to Che-Tiul.

"We were investigating him and then Cavalcante manhunt came up l and it slowed this investigation down a little but we immediately got back on it," Clark said.

"There is no one we can't find and I think the Marshalls service today proved why we are the best in the business of finding people who do not want to be found," he added.

Mario Che-Tiul was considered 'Armed and Dangerous'

The sheriff's office earlier shared on Facebook that Che-Tiul should be considered "armed and dangerous" and ''anyone who sees him should call the authorities and avoid any contact."

"Area residents should keep their homes and vehicles secured until Che-Tiul is captured," the Facebook post added.

Meanwhile, Cavalcante was serving his life sentence without parole for fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend, Deborah Brandao, 38.

He stabbed her 38 times in the Phoenixville area in 2021 in front of her two young children.

Cavalcante is presently kept at SCI Phoenix Prison, a maximum-security prison in Montgomery County.
