What is Lynne Spears' net worth? Britney Spears' mom 'struggling to pay bills' despite singer's $60M wealth

KENTWOOD, LOUISIANA: Lynne Spears, the 68-year-old mother of pop star Britney Spears, is reportedly struggling to make ends meet after falling out again with her multimillionaire daughter.

Lynne, who once had a net worth of $5 million, as per Famous Birthdays, has taken up a part-time job as a substitute teacher to make ends meet.

“She is struggling to pay her bills. She has already substituted for several classes at (a local school),” a source revealed to Daily Mail.

Lynne currently resides in a $2 million mansion built by Britney in 2001. However, Britney Spears' net worth is currently at $60 million.

What is Lynn Spears' profession?

Lynne Spears reportedly used to work as a teacher and ran a daycare in Kentwood, Louisiana, before Britney Spears' rise to stardom in the early 2000s.

Returning as a substitute teacher this term, Lynne is expected to earn around $15 an hour in that locality, as per the source outlet.

According to Lynne's Instagram bio, however, she is listed as a Rodan and Fields independent consultant. The average annual salary for that position stands at over $50,000 as per job portal Indeed.

She also apparently runs a blog, The MustardSeeds, with four other friends, where they post about local shops and restaurants. It does not have a major following and is considered to be a passion project.

The tussle between Lynne Spears and daughter Britney Spears

Britney Spears' conservatorship was officially terminated in November 2021. In April 2022, her mother reportedly asked the Grammy winner to pay the legal fees that she had stacked up during the guardianship.

Lynne had attended the hearings as an 'interested party,' and her legal bills had added up to more than $660,000.

Her attorneys argued in court, "While acknowledging that the requested fee is in the six figures, (Lynne) respectfully suggests that the request pales in comparison to the millions and millions of dollars that were spent by Jamie Spears to keep (Britney) in her untenable conservatorship, and to perform activities that (Britney) did not request, and that were not in her best interest,” as per Page Six.

Mathew Rosegart, Britney’s attorney, shot down the request noting that there was "no legal basis" for it and that his client had been her family’s "breadwinner" for years.

Rosegart also stated that Lynn “for at least a decade resided in a large, expansive house owned by Britney Spears in Kentwood, LA, for which her daughter has also continuously — and generously — paid Lynne Spears’ utilities, telephone services, insurance, property taxes, landscaping, pool work, pest control, repairs and maintenance, totaling approximately $1.7 million.”

Lynne had withdrawn her request after six months, after which the mother and daughter were able to work on repairing their relationship.

In May 2023, Lynne and Britney reunited. However, when Britney's husband Sam Asghari filed for divorce in August, the Princess of Pop was reportedly back to not being on good terms with her family.

What is Britney Spears currently working on?

Britney has rolled out a number of successful projects in 2023. Her highly anticipated memoir titled 'The Woman in Me' is scheduled to release in October.

In July, she released a song called 'Mind Your Business' with American rapper and actor Will.i.am.

The 2002 rom-com 'Crossroads' starring Britney will soon be re-released, and the pop icon will financially profit from the redistribution of the film in theaters, mentioned Page Six.
