LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift extended her almost unstoppable dominance over all things at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards. The pop sensation has been setting records for some time now, and it doesn't appear like she will slow down anytime soon.

Swift was a finalist in 20 categories going into this year's redesigned award show, which took place online only on Sunday, November 19.

Swift achieved a career-high of 39 awards after winning 10 BBMAs. Drake earned five more awards, bringing his career total to 39 as well. The two chart-topping artists are now level for most career victories at the BBMAs.

Moreover, the Canadian singer referenced pop sensation Swift when he released the sequel to 2018's 'Scary Hours' and 2021's 'Scary Hours 2' on November 17.

Drake complimented Swift, citing his sales record in the opening track of the album 'Red Button', as per NME.

Both Taylor Swift and Drake have won Top Billboard 200 album twice

Swift, who had previously won in 2013 and 2015, took up the top artist award at the BBMAs 2023 for the third time. That tied her with Drake for the most victories in this category. In 2017, 2019, and 2022, he claimed that title.

According to Billboard, Swift achieved a record-breaking sixth time as the top Billboard 200 artist. Drake has three victories to his credit.

Both performers have won the highest Billboard 200 album twice. 'Red' from 2013 and '1989' from 2015 were Swift's winning songs. 'Views' won in 2017 for Drake, and 'Scorpion' in 2019.

Drake's 13 award wins in 2017 made it his finest BBMA year to date. With 12 honors in 2019, he almost reached that milestone. He has now taken home five awards in two consecutive years.

Performance indicators on the year-end Billboard charts from November 19, 2022, through October 21, 2023, are used to determine the awards, according to USA Today.

Swift had her finest performance at the BBMAs to date with her ten awards in 2023. She had previously taken home eight honors in 2013 and 2015.

Drake has more Number 1 hits (13 over Swift's 11) and Top 10 hits (76 versus Swift's 49) on the Billboard Hot 100.

Drake is far ahead of Swift in terms of overall weeks at the top of the chart—56 weeks compared to 33 weeks for Swift.

Swift gave a prerecorded speech to her supporters on Sunday night while on her enormous Eras Tour, which is now taking her through South America.

Swift told her fans, "None of this happens without you. I’m so honored that this year you made the Eras Tour so magical. You went and saw the movie."

"You cared about my rerecordings. I just love you so much. I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have you in my corner and caring about the music that I make," she added.

Swifties asserts Taylor Swift would surpass Drake's records 'in the next few years'

Internet users, particularly Swifties, took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate Swift's win and tying equal to Drake, while asserting, "She's gonna break the tie next year."

One Swiftie claimed, "Coming to surpass in the next few years."

One more said, "We are we coming for every record existing."

"The fact that she’d have beat him if Billboard didn’t rig and cut the first 3 weeks of midnights sales from being tracked for her to get the billboard 200 award," clarified another one.

Several other internet users praised both artists for their achievements, with one writing, "The two most iconic character in music."

A second one chimed in, "Look forward to seeing their following music awards."

"Two GOAT," one more praised and said.

"Wow that's some margin," one more added.
