CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Taylor Swift 'swallowed a bug' during her Eras Tour stop in Chicago on Sunday, June 4, as she had a mild coughing fit during her performance at Soldier Field. "I just swallowed a bug. I'm so sorry. It's totally fine. It's just stupid," Swift told the concertgoers.

While the 33-year-old performer introduced her band's recently joined member and pianist, Karina DePiano, she coughed after she turned around on stage to cover her mouth. Before spitting out the bug, she jokingly said, "Delicious," and added, "Oh, God. Is there any chance none of you saw that?", according to People.

'It's fine. I swallowed it'

The Grammy winner continued coughing and laughed saying, "It's fine. I swallowed it," and told the crowd, "This is going to happen again tonight. There are so many bugs. There are 1,000 of them. Anyway, this has been fun." After she introduced the pianist, the music icon coughed again and then performed the 'Tolerate It' song set in the 'Evermore' section of her show.

'This is a safe space for you'

The singer commemorated June as Pride Month and stated in her recent speech during one of her Chicago shows in the Eras tour that her concert will be a "safe space" for LGBTQ+ individuals. On Friday, June 3, Swift said that this month is meant to celebrate the "brilliant crowds of people who are living their authentic lives."

"They are loving who they want to love, they are identifying how they identify, and allies who get to support them in and celebrate them in that," she said."This is a safe space for you. This is a celebratory space for you. And one of the things that makes me feel so prideful is getting to be with you, and watching you interact with each other, and being so loving, and so thoughtful, and so caring," the songwriter added.

'It's painful for everyone, every ally, every loved one'

Talking in reference to the legislation that targets the LGBTQ and queer community in the nation, the 'Fearless' singer spoke in support of the community. "There have been so many harmful pieces of legislation that have put people in the LGBTQ and queer community at risk. It's painful for everyone, every ally, every loved one, every person in these communities, and that's why I'm always posting, ‘This is when the midterms are. This is when these important key primaries are.’" she said in her speech.

Toward the end of her speech, Swift urged the crowd to understand the importance of pride month and to make sure they vote wisely. "We can support as much as we want during Pride Month, but if we're not doing our research on these elected officials, are they advocates?" she said before adding "Are they allies? Are they protectors of equality?"

Swift who will be taking her next stop on the Eras Tour in Detroit this week has now broken up with Matty Healy after a whirlwind one-month romance. However, the reason for their split remains unclear. The duo was spotted together several times on the Eras tour.
