'Something seemed so weird': Samuel Haskell's neighbor recalls his 'strange behavior' at a house party

ENCINO, CALIFORNIA: A neighbor of Samuel Haskell, 35, the son of a prominent Hollywood executive who was arrested on suspicion of murder, had reflected on his "weird" behavior.

Samuel Haskell, 35, is the son of Sam Haskell Sr, the founder and president of Magnolia Hill Productions and a former CEO of the Miss America organization who has repped stars like George Clooney, Dolly Parton, and Whoopi Goldberg.

Woman’s torso found in dumpster

Haskell Jr was arrested on Wednesday, November 8, at a mall in Topanga, California, after a homeless person found a bag containing a woman’s torso in a dumpster.

Police believe the torso belongs to his wife Mei Haskell who is still missing along with her parents Yanxiang Wang and Gaoshen Li.

The couple lived with their three children and Mei’s parents in a home in the 4100 block of Coldstream Terrace where police found evidence of a crime, including blood and body parts.

The couple's children aged six, eight, and 12 are safe, said police.

Neighbor recalls Samuel Haskell's strange behavior

The neighbor, who did not want to be identified, told ABC 7 News that she knew Mei personally and had invited the couple to a house party.

She said she noticed Haskell's strange behavior recently and wondered if he was sick or something was wrong.

"They came there ... very nice, beautiful, but the husband ... I was shocked. Something seemed so off. Something seemed so weird. I kept saying to my family, 'Something is wrong with her husband,' the neighbor said.

Police are still searching for Mei Haskell and her parents

Police are still searching for Mei and her parents who have not been seen or heard from since November 8.

They are asking anyone with information to contact them. They are also searching for two vehicles belonging to the family.

Haskell is being held without bail and has not been formally charged yet.

The neighbor further stated that she "didn't see them much," and on the day the police arrived at his house, she was driving.

"I was driving home and I saw him walking on the street. He was wearing all black," she recalled.

It is not yet clear how long the remains have been near the dumpster or how long the victim has died. The publication, however, noted, "It may have been just a couple of days."
