TORONTO, CANADA: Actress Samantha Weinstein, known for her role in the movie 'Carrie', has sadly passed away at the age of 28 after bravely fighting ovarian cancer for two and a half years. The news of her passing on May 14 was confirmed by her father, David, who expressed his heartfelt tribute to the Canadian star.

Samantha, who began her acting career at the young age of six, was hailed as an inspirational artist who embraced life to the fullest and remained dedicated to her craft even during her final days. She passed away at Toronto's Princess Margaret Hospital, where she had been receiving treatment since her ovarian cancer diagnosis. "Sam was actually a living embodiment of a sunbeam," her father, David Weinstein told Global News. "She was so full of positive energy, anyone who ever met her would say that she just lit up every room she walked into." Her mother, Jojo Tindall-Weinstein said Samantha "changed everyone's lives." "And I know that sounds really dramatic, but people are really serious when they say that. Her infectious, positive attitude actually changed the way other people live."
