LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hotel heiress Paris Hilton has received a deluge of congratulations, following her announcement in a heartwarming Thanksgiving Instagram post that she was "thankful" for her baby girl London.
The 42-year-old celebrity revealed the gender and name of her child when she posted a picture of a pink baby onesie with the name 'London.' "Thankful for my baby girl," the heiress captioned the picture.
Paris maintained the surprise with a simple snapshot of a knitted teddy bear, a pair of charming heart-shaped sunglasses, and a cute pink babygrow monogrammed with the name London.
She has two children with her 42-year-old spouse, Carter Reum. The couple got married in 2021 after 15 years of friendship and discretely welcomed their first son, Phoenix, in January 2023 via surrogacy.
Paris explained in a TikTok comment that her daughter had already arrived, writing: "My princess has arrived!!" after initially confusing fans by not saying if the baby was on the way or had already been delivered, per Daily Mail.
Paris Hilton once revealed why she picked out name 'London' for daughter
The name itself did not surprise anyone, even though the announcement of her second child's arrival did.
In a March 1 live chat episode of her podcast, Paris revealed that she had chosen the name London more than 10 years ago if she were to have a daughter.
Claiming London to be her favorite city, Paris said at the time, "I'm really excited for Phoenix to have a baby sister one day—named London. It's my favorite city and I've always wanted to name my daughter London."
"I had actually picked that name for a long time now, probably over 10 years. I always wanted London. I love that name for my daughter," Paris added.
Paris also admitted on 'The Ellen Show' in 2022: "The girl is gonna be named London Marilyn Hilton Reum. Marilyn after my grandmother and London because it's my favorite city and I think Paris and London sound cute together," as per Hello! Magazine.
Paris Hilton's son Phoenix also named after a city
Phoenix wasn't an easy name to come up with, but the heiress named after the French capital obviously intended to carry on the city-naming custom with her children.
It appears the newest member of the Hilton family will have the name of a well-known city, much like her famous mother. Paris' son Phoenix is also the name of a city in Arizona.
Paris said during the cast, "It was hard to pick (Phoenix) because a lot of the cities that I like just wouldn't sound good as a name."
She went on to say, "Like Ibiza would be so weird as a kids' name, Vegas would be weird. It's difficult to find a cool name that's a city for a boy. Besides London, (because) that works for both."
In a 'Paris in Love' episode, Paris and Carter admitted to having told anyone about Phoenix, not even their own families.
It would not be shocking if Paris decided to keep her newborn's photos to herself. Recently, she was compelled to protect Phoenix from trolls after people made fun of his large head on social media.
"There are some sick people in this world," retorted Paris in her comments on the video.
"My angel is perfectly healthy. And yes, of course he has been to a doctor, he just has a large brain."
Fictional character London Tipton was based on real Paris Hilton
Though Disney did not explicitly declare it, many viewers of 'The Suite Life of Zack and Cody' soon came to the conclusion that London Tipton was a fictitious parody of the real Paris Hilton.
In addition to having a huge hotel chain named after them, Paris was given its own city, just like London did in the television series.
The Tipton, owned by London's father, is the location for the show. London gives off the impression of being a sweet, kind girl, but she is also rather privileged and not necessarily the smartest.
Many people also thought that Paris was extremely privileged, particularly after the reality show 'The Simple Life' aired.
The show featured Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie whining about the amount of work that others had to do daily while often failing severely at their jobs.
It seems that it took Hilton a full 12 years to understand that Disney had practically replicated her for a TV show, even if viewers would have seen the similarities, per Inside the Magic website.
Fans laud Paris Hilton for taking city name trend to 'next level'
Social media users praised the hotel heiress for continuing the city name trend with her children, with one X (formerly Twitter) user commenting, "Paris Hilton is really taking the 'city name' trend to the next level!"
A second online fan hailed Paris and said, "This is so iconic actually…paris hilton naming her baby girl london after london tipton was named after her?? WHAT A QUEEN."
"PAYING HOMAGE TO LONDON TIPTON OMG SHE GETS IT," exclaimed another one, with the reference to London Tipton.
One more chimed along, "A name as big as the capital, very interesting, nurturing great thoughts in the way of thinking of Asian people."
Another one congratulated the mother and said, "That's such wonderful news! A little bundle of joy named London is bound to be as fabulous as her mom!"
"Wow Paris will give birth to London, congratulations," quipped another one.
Another one congratulated Paris and wrote, "That's quite a name choice! Wishing her all the best on this exciting journey into motherhood."
