LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Adding to Ashton Kutcher’s owe, an old clip of him commenting about an underaged Hilary Duff, 35, has resurfaced, and which is making the internet slam the ‘No Strings Attached’ actor.
Recently, Kutcher, 45, already lost some of his supporters and fans as netizens reacted vehemently against him for penning a letter supporting rape convict Danny Masterson.
Now, an old clip of Kutcher from his reality television series ‘Punk'd’ has gone viral. In the 2003 clip from one of the episodes of the television series, Kutcher - who was in his 20s then - was heard saying, "And she's one of the girls that we're all waiting for to turn 18," about Hilary Duff.
Duff was 15 then.
In the clip, Kutcher can be seen continuing, "Along with the Olsen twins,” referring to child actors Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, per Insider.
Chrissie Carnell Bixler, one of Masterson’s accusers and ex-girlfriends, posted the clip on her Instagram story on Saturday.
Bixler castigated Kutcher by saying, "In my opinion, you're just as sick as your 'mentor’”.
Why did Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis apologize?
Following the backlash and immense criticism, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis apologized on Saturday, September 9 for the character certifying letters they wrote for Danny Masterson.
Kutcher and Kunis issued an apology video where they said, “We’re sorry,” before adding, “the pain that has been caused by the character letters that we wrote on behalf of Danny Masterson.”
They also pledged their support for the victims in the video.
However, they were criticized by the fans strongly for their “gunpoint” apology.
'Ashton Kutcher has always been shady'
Following Danny Masterson's sentencing, Ashton Kutcher is finding himself at the receiving end of the internet's wrath, with netizens sharply criticizing him for the resurfaced video.
One disillusioned fan commented, "Remember when Ashton Kutcher sexualised children by saying he was waiting for Hilary Duff and the Olsen twins to turn 18 — and now here he is writing a character reference for a convicted rapist who is such a good father, husband and friend that justice shouldn’t apply to him."
"Dude, they dug up a clip of Ashton Kutcher introducing Hillary Duff and saying "we're all waiting for her to turn 18". She was 15 at the time," said someone else.
Someone else commented vitriolically, "Ashton Kutcher made a comment bout How he was waiting for Hilary Duff to turn 18 when she was only 15. That man meant everything he said in that letter."
Another angry fan said, "Ashton kutcher has always been shady; there’s a clip of him saying that they are all waiting for 15 y/o hilary duff, along with the olsen twins, to turn 18."
"Ashton Kutcher joking about waiting on girls to turn 18 while he was playing a the boyfriend of a 14yo on that show and then married her," said someone else who referred to Kutcher's wife Mila Kunis.
Sharing a meme, another fan said, "Ashton Kutcher staring at his high school journal trying to butterfly effect back in time to before he groomed 14 year old Mila Kunis & bragged about it in interviews & also before he said he was waiting for Hillary Duff & the Olsen Twins to turn 18."
