LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Zolciak has opened up about her estranged husband Kroy Biermann's claims that question her parenting. In the court documents submitted, he has alleged that their four children require protection from Zolciak and she is now left with "no choice but to speak up" against the football veteran for his "harmful lies."
"It’s really sad the way Kroy is causing our divorce to play out in the media like this because it could have a profound effect on our children in the long run," Zolciak's attorney said on Tuesday, June 13. As per the statement issued, she has accused the 37-year-old of attempting "to paint Kim as an unfit mother" to their four younger children "for his own gain". The couple who have been married for nearly two years share six children, Kroy Jagger, 11, Kash Kade, 10, twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren, nine, and also two elder daughters Ariana Biermann, 21, and Brielle Biermann, 26, according to Page Six.
'Kim has always been an extremely devoted mother'
The 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' alum's lawyer accused Biermann of subjecting her to years of "emotional and mental abuse" that has affected their family. "Kim has always been an extremely devoted mother to her children. They are her entire world, and she is always there to love and support them every step of the way," the statement concluded.
In the newly submitted court documents, Biermann has requested the court that his children be provided with a legal guardian. The former athlete claimed Zolciak had "little concern if the children are present" whenever she has been "abusive" toward him. He also shared that her appearance in the upcoming 'RHOA' might affect their "mental health and well-being."
'She’s dealing with a lot'
The retired professional footballer also requested that Zolciak's alleged gambling and reckless driving should be "immediately" looked into by a local mediation group. The duo who have been married since November 2011 filed for divorce in May.
Biermann and Zolciak are still living in their million-dollar mansion in Georgia and a source revealed their children are struggling in the middle of their nasty divorce. "Kim and Kroy are living on different sides of the home, crossing over in the kitchen yelling and screaming at each other in the night," said the insider.
The television personality's former co-star Sheree Whitfield recently shared that the legal proceeding has not been difficult for Zolciak as "she has a lot of children and is just really trying to be strong for [them] and added that "she's dealing with a lot," reported Page Six.
