LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jay Leno is not at his best following two back-to-back accidents. However, he prefers not to ''whine'' about it. Last year, a horrible fire in his garage burned his face, and it was followed by a dangerous motorcycle accident that took place earlier this year.
For the 73-year-old TV show host "they were just accidents" and "real people have accidents every day," he told People. While sharing a detailed account of his injuries and how he's been coping with them, Leno said, “I’m alright, I’ve got a broken collar bone and two broken ribs and a couple cracked kneecaps, but I’m okay."
'There’s a little pain, but it’s not bad'
The comedian further revealed, “There’s a little pain, but it’s not bad." Leno said, “Pain is constant, so if it’s constant you’re okay. Pain from a burn, after a while, you get used to it and eventually it goes away, but it’s not terrible.”
However, he believes, "Real people have accidents every day. When you’re in show business people fawn all over you. And if you start whining and complaining about it you’re a whiny, complaining actor." So instead, for Leno, "It’s better if you just make jokes about it and have fun.”
'It’s better to catch on fire than be with another woman!'
Despite the horrific incidents, Leno claims his wife Mavis has been understanding and hasn't sought to limit his passion for automobiles and bikes. "She’s fine with everything,” he said before adding “As long as it’s not other women and cocaine, I’m fine. It’s better to catch on fire than be with another woman!”

The former 'The Tonight Show' host much to the relief is focussed on smaller and less dangerous vehicles as he revealed to the outlet, "I was 18 when Hot Wheels came out,” Leno told about the popular toy car collectibles inspiring the new competition show that he’s helping judge. “Hot Wheels came to my garage. I’m at 204 cars now. We picked the Jay Leno collection and all the money goes to charity and scholarships," he said. “Whenever we do hospitals or stuff involving kids you just bring a bunch of Hot Wheels and it’s the cool thing to have," Leno added.
