DOWNTOWN DUBAI, DUBAI: The Burj Khalifa skyscraper, situated in Dubai, stands as a monument to several world records, with its remarkable height reaching 2,716.5 feet (828 meters), as per the Guinness Book of World Records.

Beyond being the tallest building globally, this colossal structure claims additional accolades, including being taller than the previsously record-breaking Petronas Towers, the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building, and even the clouds!

Was Burj Khalifa always the tallest in the world?

For an impressive span of 32 years, from 1975 to 2007, the CN Tower in Toronto proudly held the title of the world's tallest free-standing structure with a height of 1,815 feet (553 metres) until Burj Khalifa's height of 2,716.5 feet (828 meters) broke the record.

In March 1996, the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the record of the Sears Tower as the world's tallest office building with a height of 1,482 ft 8 inches (451.9 meters).

Subsequently, in 2003, Taiwan's Taipei 101, also recognized as the Taipei Financial Centre, claimed the title with an impressive height of 508 meters (1,666 ft).

Notably, just a year later, construction commenced on the Burj Khalifa, making it taller than the other 20th and 21st century buildings.

How much taller is the Burj Khalifa than the Eiffel Tower in feet?

While the Burj Khalifa's height is 2,716.5 feet (828 meters), the the Eiffel Tower itself is 1083 feet (330 metres) high.

Situated in Paris, France, the Eiffel Tower holds the distinction of being the world's second tallest freestanding structure whereas the Burj Khalifa surpasses this iconic landmark by an impressive margin of 1,633 feet (497.74 meters).

Over the past two decades, the fields of architecture and structural engineering have experienced remarkable advancements.

This rapid progress has given rise to the prevalence of soaring skyscrapers, now integral features in numerous large and affluent cities around the globe.

However, the Burj Khalifa still remians one of the tallest buildings in the world, surpassing the Empire State Building.

How tall is the Burj Khalifa compared to the Empire State Building?

the Empire State Building stands 1,250 feet (380 meters) tall as compared to Burj Khalifa that stands 2,716.5 feet (828 meters) tall.

The Empire State Building stands as a 102-story Art Deco skyscraper located in Midtown Manhattan, New York. In contrast, the Burj Khalifa is a skyscraper situated in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
