NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Elise Finch, a "gifted and consummate professional" meteorologist for CBS-New York, died unexpectedly over the July 16 weekend, just a few days after going on television, leaving coworkers and friends inconsolable. Finch, 51, who began delivering the weather forecast on Channel 2 across the Big Apple in 2007, died Sunday evening, July 16, at a nearby hospital, according to her employer, New York affiliate CBS station WCBS.

Finch, whose full name was Elise Dione Finch Henriques, was a "fiercely loving and devoted" mother to her daughter Grace and to her husband Graig Henriques, a photojournalist for WCBS. Her career as a meteorologist first began as a weekend forecaster, and most recently she provided the weather report for the morning news. The cause of her death is unknown.
