NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News' morning show 'Fox & Friends' meteorologist Janice Dean mourned the death of actress and filmmaker Suzanne Somers.

The icon passed away just a day short of her birthday when she would have turned 77.

Dean looked back on the time Somers had visited her and her co-hosts on the morning show.

Janice Dean praised Suzanne Somers for leaving show over low pay

The meteorologist penned a thread on her X account, especially mentioning Somers' powerful move of leaving her popular sitcom 'Three's Company' over pay negotiations.

"She was lovely and came on @foxandfriends frequently with her husband Alan," her tweet read, "Suzanne Somers was a trailblazer. When she asked for more money during her Three’s Company contract negotiations, they said “no” so she left and it was never the same. RIP beautiful Suzanne."

Dean also shared a source for highlighting Somers' fight for fair treatment.

She quoted the source, "When it came time for fifth-season negotiations in 1980, Somers asked for a pay hike noting the salary increase would be "equal to what her Three's Company co-star John Ritter was receiving. Instead, ABC offered Somers a measly $5,000 salary increase.”

She closed her post by mentioning Somers' relationship with her husband Alan Hamel.

"But the thing I remember the most about Suzanne Somers other than her gorgeous blue eyes and kindness and quick wit is her absolute love and devotion to her husband @AlanHamel2. They were the real deal," she wrote.

Suzanne Somers was battling with cancer

Somers had been in a long battle with breast cancer, first being diagnosed with it all the way back in 2000. She was vocal about her health as she had suffered multiple illnesses, her fight with cancer going back to her time on the 70s sitcom when she had skin cancer as well.

Somers would have turned 77 on October 16 for which she had all her loved ones, including Hamel and son Bruce close to her, according to USA Today.

Her publicist, R Couri Hay, shared in a statement that the actress had peacefully passed away with her immediate family close to her in the early morning hours on October 15.
