Florida man enjoys beer amid Hurricane Idalia floodwaters on August 30

WEEKI WACHEE, FLORIDA: A Florida man has gone viral on the Internet after he posted a photo of himself enjoying a bottle of beer surrounded by Hurricane Idalia's floodwaters.

The Florida man, identified as Bill Stewart, shared his photo on Facebook. The picture showed the Florida man resting on a recliner while sipping his beer in a flooded house.

Florida man’s photo attracted hilarious comments

Stewart’s photo received hundreds of comments from users on Facebook with one saying, “Hope the fridge isn’t renning [sic].”

Another one commented, “Best pic the day [sic] !!!” The third user wrote, “Been there through Ian. Hope you are doing okay. Like to laugh with you not at you.”

“Heineken give this guy an endorsement now!” the fourth user suggested. The fifth one added, “I want to be as unbothered as this guy in a hurricane.”

However, the Florida man had to face an even tougher situation soon after as he had to battle a house fire after he took the beer photo.

A woman named Monica Travis shared a screenshot on Facebook and wrote, “He said he had a house fire after... This was a few comments up.”

Hurricane Idalia kills two

Hurricane Idalia made landfall in Florida on Wednesday, August 30, and claimed two lives, CNN reported.

The devastating storm also severely damaged a century-old tree, which fell onto Governor Ron DeSantis’ official residence.

But none of the family members of the leader were hurt. Florida's first lady, Casey DeSantis, posted an image of the fallen tree on Instagram. In her post, she wrote, “100 year old oak tree falls on the Governor’s Mansion in Tallahassee — Mason, Madison, Mamie and I were home at the time, but thankfully no one was injured.”

She also stated, “Our prayers are with everyone impacted by the storm.”

A well-wisher of the DeSantis family commented, “Glad you are all safe. Prayers for those impacted by the hurricane.”

The second one said, “Oh my goodness what a massive tree to come down! Thank God everyone is okay!”

“Wow thank you for sharing! Our family is praying for y'all and all the beautiful folks of Florida impacted by this storm!” the third user added.
