NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fired ‘GMA3’ host Amy Robach recently took to Instagram to share a selfie with the iconic Empire State Building lit up in pink in the backdrop to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The month of October has been earmarked as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to raise awareness of this complex disease.

The 50-year-old former ‘GMA’ star was once diagnosed with the disease and underwent a bilateral mastectomy to get rid of it.

Robach’s battle with the cancer was intense and the former ‘GMA3’ host never shies away from raising awareness about it.

To spread the word, Robach decided to share a quick selfie with her followers and remind them that October is deemed to be Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Robach posed for a snap, all smiles as the glowing lights of New York City brightened the background.

In the snap, Robach pointed to the Empire State Building somewhere in the distance. The iconic landmark was lit up in pink to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Robach also shared a screenshot from the official website of the Empire State Building which had set aside October 2, 2023, as the day when the building will be lit with “light pink and dark pink with dynamic pink ribbon scrolling in the mast.”

The initiative was done in partnership with Estee Lauder in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Robach, who is a breast cancer survivor, once revealed that she underwent eight rounds of chemotherapy after doctors found a second malignant tumor in her other breast.

The former ‘GMA3’ host's efforts in fighting breast cancer have been lauded by everyone and Robach now raises as much awareness as possible about this disease.

Amy Robach's prep for the NYC marathon heats up

The 50-year-old recently shared another close-up selfie, donning a black cap, a white jacket that had turned translucent from sweat and water, with a yellow sports bra under it.

Robach was soaking wet after a run in the rain and also shared her impressive stats from her run in New York, which saw her burn close to 1700 calories. She completed a 16-mile run in two hours and 26 minutes.

Robach captioned her post, “Pushing through the rain and the wind today! #6weekstogo #nycmarathon.”

Robach will not be running the marathon alone but will be accompanied by her boyfriend and former ‘GMA3’ star TJ Holmes.
