HUNTLEY, ILLINOIS: Two Illinois men were arrested and sentenced to short jail terms following a horrific incident of animal cruelty that transpired in June 2022.
Daniel A Carey, 19, and Nathan P Weber, 19 attacked a helpless raccoon, filmed the brutal action, and shared the video on social media.
They even send disturbing animal snuff footage to some people, reported Law and Crime.

According to McHenry County Circuit Court records Carey was taken into custody on one count of disorderly conduct and two counts of animal torture in July 2022.
Carey's accomplice Weber was then arrested on one count each of disorderly conduct, animal torture, and depiction of animal cruelty.
The shocking incident took place in Huntley. The footage showed the raccoon being tortured and stabbed with a sword, as per the criminal complaint obtained by the Lake & McHenry County Scanner.
The suspects took turns attacking the raccoon that died impaled. Authorities described it as "a cutlass-style sword or large knife."
The poor creature suffered "extreme physical pain" after Weber pinned it down with a garden rake and Carey later hit its head with a hammer.

The 19-year-old's were taken into custody nearly a month after the brutal slaying of the raccoon was shared online, according to court records.
Carey and Weber initially pleaded not guilty and, if convicted of their original charges, they may face five years in prison.
However, both of them were released after they posted 10% of their bonds amounting to $20,000.
Following a plea agreement, two felony counts against Carey pleaded down to one Class A misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty.
Meanwhile, one felony count against Weber was reduced to one Class A misdemeanor charge of depiction of cruelty to animals.
"Nathan did a lot of soul searching, especially with the help of his parents," stated Weber’s attorney Brian Stevens.
"The judge also noted this, [Davis] said it was important he took responsibility for his actions and he understood what he did was wrong," he added.
Weber was sentenced to spend 10 days in county jail with two years of probation and 240 hours of community service in April.
On August 31, Carey was sentenced to 60 days in county jail with 18 months on probation and 240 hours of community service.
