Claudia Morales: Internet claims Ryan Carson's GF did not describe his killer to cops but friend dismisses rumors

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK: Ryan Carson's girlfriend, Claudia Morales, came under online scrutiny after the former was stabbed to death by Brian Dowling, 18, during an unprovoked attack on Monday, October 2.

Unfounded claims on the internet later suggested that Morales, who was present at the scene of the crime, did not give the description of the killer while speaking to cops in order to avoid "stereotyping" his identity.

"Ryan Carson, the victim, is having his legacy absolutely destroyed by those around him. His girlfriend refused to give police a proper description of the attacker because she didn’t want to stereotype," @/Travis_in_Flint claimed in an X post, which went viral and garnered two million views.

"His friends are running GoFundMe campaigns to take time off work and 'grieve.' Woke is the absolute worst mind virus we’ve ever witnessed as a society," the user added.

However, X user @/xtineengels (Christine), who identified as Morales' friend, denied the rumors and said that there is "absolutely no truth" to the claims, which alleged that Morales did not describe Carson's attacker.

At the time of writing, cops have also not provided any statement about Morales refusing to describe her boyfriend's killer while speaking to authorities.

Internet slams Claudia Morales over baseless rumors

Several social media users slammed Morales after baseless claims of her not describing Carson's killer to cops went viral online.

"Liberal activist Ryan Carson, 31, was fatally stabbed early Monday by an African-American man. His girlfriend, Claudia Morales, who was with him, is an BLM activist. She has refused to give a description," one user claimed.

"So she’s actively ensuring other people get hurt by the same guy," one alleged.

"The victim's girlfriend didn't seem that upset and then by wanting to protect the guy that stabbed her boyfriend she should be brought up on charges of aiding the criminal," a third claimed.

"The 'girlfriend' is complicit, and should be treated as such," one said. "God’s arm is long. She will face the wrath," added another.

Someone else said, "The GF sure seemed not phased at all by the attack."

Meanwhile, another pointed out, "She also behaved very strangely during and after the attack. That video clip is stranger than strange."

"I saw the video but fail to understand why she refuses to give a description. Surely, even if she's not interested in revenge, she wants this violent man off the streets where he might harm someone else?" someone asked.

Another added, "Like others have I watched the video and it was a very strange looking event, she was standing there like a statue watching her boyfriend get stabbed a few feet away, got spat on, but despite it all barely moved a muscle. Not saying it was faked but certainly 'odd.'"

What did Claudia Morales' friend say?

Morales' friend, named Christine on X, formerly Twitter, came to her defense and denied claims that the former did not describe Carson's attacker to cops.

"There is absolutely NO truth to the claim that Claudia Morales gave no description of Ryan Carson’s attacker to the police," the friend wrote.

"She spent hours after his death with the police describing the attack and attacker over and over to bother night shift police and day shift detectives," they added.

"The NYPD not releasing a description of the attacker is not the same thing as Claudia not giving one. I am sick seeing the way the right has totally made up this vicious lie about my friend," the X user mentioned.

"*To both night and day shift, not to bother them. i am MAD and typing fast," the friend mentioned in another post.

While the majority of internet users continued to question Morales, others sided with her friend after the explanation.

"Its not true. They have a photo of him. They don't need a description. Why tell lies?" one user wrote against the rumors.

"I used to work in a newsroom and lots of folks on this app need to be reminded: an article saying police don't have something does not mean someone else withholding it. Police don't hesitate to say if someone isn't cooperating. Anonymous sources can also just be incorrect," another mentioned.

"To see people pushing a narrative she actively did not want the suspect arrested is DISGUSTING," a third added.

How did the rumors against Claudia Morales start?

The rumors of Morales allegedly not providing a description of Carson's killer, Dowling, while speaking to cops began after an article mentioned that police did not initially have a physical description of the suspect despite Morales being present on the scene.

"Sources told CBS New York police do not have a physical description of the suspect, but said the person was acting irrationally prior to the attack," a CBS article noted.

Although neither the article nor any police officer claimed that Morales did not give them a description of Carson's killer, social media users questioned the lack of "physical description" despite Morales being present at the scene as a witness to the crime.

"Did you know Ryan Carsons' girlfriend refused to give police a proper description of the attacker because she didn’t want to 'STEREOTYPE'. His friends are running GoFundMe campaigns to take time off work and 'grieve.' Woke is a disease. His killer was arrested, Brian Dowling," one user wrote.

"What’s your source that she wouldn’t talk to the police," one asked in response.

"Presumably she didn't give them a physical description of the attacker," another responded alongside a link to the CBS article.

A surveillance footage showing the brutal attack captured the confrontation between Carson and Dowling.

According to ABC News, NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said in a press conference that Carson and Morales were returning from a wedding and waiting at a bus stop in the Bed-Stuyvesant section in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn when they crossed paths with Dowling.

As the couple began to walk toward Dowling, he allegedly began to destroy scooters and asked Carson, "What are you looking at?"

The officer said that Carson attempted to de-escalate the situation but Dowling swung a knife at him. After Carson tripped and fell, Dowling stabbed him three times.

In the video, Dowling could be heard saying, "I’m going to kill you right now," while Carson could be heard replying, "Chill, chill, chill."

The clip also showed Dowling rushing toward Morales, who stood beside her wounded boyfriend, and threatening her before spitting on her face and leaving the scene.

Dowling was later arrested and charged with Morales' murder.
