Ali Wentworth and Brooke Shields' awareness walk to support rape and domestic violence survivors impresses fans: ‘Great cause’

THE HAMPTONS, NEW YORK: ‘Good Morning America’ star George Stephanopoulos and his wife Ali Wentworth are a power couple in media. While George is a renowned public figure and political commentator, Ali has built up her profile as an actress, author, and activist. The duo have also managed to kickstart a production company named Bedby8 Productions and made a documentary titled ‘Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields’ on their close friend Brooke Shields.

Ali and Brooke have known each other for over two decades, with the duo now doing everything together. Brooke’s documentary, produced by Ali and George, also managed to land an Emmy nomination. Apart from all the glitz and glamour, Ali and Brooke are ardent activists and recently walked for the Joyful Heart Foundation to create awareness and show their undying support for sexual assault and domestic violence survivors.

Ali and Brooke walk for a ‘Joyful’ cause

Ali has always been vocal about causes that are close to her. Only a few months ago, Ali and her daughters were spotted at an anti-gun rally and now, the 58-year-old producer had gathered her friends Brooke Shields and Mariska Hargitay to walk for the Joyful Heart Foundation whose sole vision is to create a world free of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse. Founded by Ali’s friend Mariska, the foundation conducted a walk on the Hamptons beach with the sole mission to create awareness about the cause and to further its agenda of transforming society’s response to sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse, supporting survivors’ healing.

Ali later documented her walk on Instagram and shared it with her followers. She captioned the post, “@thejhf walked today! For awareness and a sense of communal effort to end the rape kit backlog, support survivors and stop domestic violence and sexual assault against all people..” Ali’s snap had Brooke Shields and Mariska standing next to her on the picturesque beach where the awareness walk took place.

‘Wish I could have walked with you’

Fans hailed Ali as she took the initiative with her friends to promote a noble cause. One user wrote in the comments section of the post, "Wish I could have walked with you!! (With multiple heart emojis),” while a second complimented all the ladies in the photo and said, “You three are incredible. Great cause. Also, let’s write a show starring you three. I don’t even care what it’s about.”

One user said, “Mother Nature lifted the heat wave to support the cause,” while another commented, “That’s a dream team - you go girls!” One social media user also thanked Ali and her friends for using their status to promote the cause, “Thank you for using your celebrity status to support this and bring awareness.”
